Another Date

This week was funny on Match. After feeling frustrated with the whole match experience I had so far...which was very limited... I decided since I was not renewing my subscription I would just go in and finally take a look around for myself to see what was out there. I will admit I am not good at judging people from a photo. And some of the photos that are posted I had to wonder what the guy was thinking. I mean really. REALLY bad pictures. Anyway...I looked at over 2000 pics. Winked at maybe 5. I expanded my radius a few miles to try to include a few more people to choose from. I came across a good looking guy and read his profile. It was different from the others. It wasn't all about what a nice guy he was...or how he was looking for his soul mate. It was hilarious. And short. He said he went on a date and it seemed to go well as it ended with a kiss...which was pretty hot...and then her bridge fell on to his tongue. He was back looking to get the taste out of his mouth.

That is hilarious so I thought WTF. I'm going to email this guy. All I said was "LMAO Your profile is hilarious!"

He wrote back. "Glad to amuse"

We had a date last night. No blogger spies were in attendance. It was fun.

Anyway.. Saturday night I went out with a girlfriend. This match guy knew I was going out and asked if I was going to be trolling for guys. I said no..I'm going out to have a nice dinner with my friend.

Trolling never crossed my mind. I have actually never trolled for guys in my life. That is probably why I don't like Match. It's like trolling for guys. Yuck!

The guy that received an email from me and then Kim the next day emailed back. He said something like "Are things a bit more settled for you now......"

My response.. Well, I don't think things are totally settled yet as I seem to have emailed you almost the same thing twice!! So sorry!

Match subscription coming to an end

Me again. My subscription to Match expires on Feb 4. I will not be renewing. In the meantime I have pretty much gone in and responded to any emails that had not been responded to by The Expert. If you know me..you know I have no tact and pretty much say whatever comes to mind.

So..to the young 29 year old lawyer....

Thanks for the wink. You're a great looking guy. I myself am looking for a great friend/lover. Done with the kids thing though so I don't fit into what you seem to be looking for. Good luck though :)

OK One guy was just too creepy to respond to....but besides him...I feel like I should be courteous with a reply.

Sooo...I have about 2 weeks to make a connection. Of course I have to have a date first!!

Lack of Communication :(

Well...Obviously we haven't been going on any dates...as there are no new blogs! I finally finished moving and my older son is back to college. Time to concentrate on this "project" again. Kim has been super busy herself..so it's been hard for her to stay on top of the matching/emailing/winking. I decided to go in and finally take a look around. Up until now I have really only looked at who Kim picked for me. It was a long weekend and some bad weather..so I decided..what the heck. I went into the search section. Up came my potential matches. I must have filled out the form wrong. REALLY??? Those are my potential matches??? I think not! Then I clicked on the "opposites" button. How interesting. Why do they look more like a match to me than the ones that were suppose to match?? I favorited a few so Kim would know who to target. She "Winked"for me... I really could have done that myself but that's not how we set up our little rules. Anyway...Still the weekend and I take another search through potential matches. Hmmm. There's a handsome chap and he lives in the next town. He's conveniently located..and I have no plans for the weekend. I decide..screw the rules. I'm winking at this guy myself! There... done! He emails me the next day and it was a very nice normal sounding guy! Yaaay! Hope Kim responds.... 2 days later...nothing! ok this guy is gonna think I'm rude! And my weekend and available time is coming to an end. I am justifying to myself why I should break the rules and email him myself. I conclude that A) Kim says it's hard for her to get on the computer during the weekends and B) I should just handle these Westchester guys myself. Let's face it. Is the team going to schlep out here to watch my date. I don't think so! So..I email him back.

Just getting back to a schedule now after moving, having my older son back to college, and the music industry starting up again. (It always shuts down from Christmas to New Years)

I'm fairly new to Match. A friend told me to give it a try but I have to say I think it's pretty weird! How are you liking it?

Ok...That was easy enough.

That was yesterday. MLK day. Now from my view on match.com it shows if you have emailed someone or not. WELL...apparently Kim did not see that . So then TODAY she emailed him again...pretending of course to be me. Here is what I sounded like today (via Kim)

Nice to meet you. Yes, that is not too far. I do have a busy schedule, but it's not as bad as I make it out to sound. And now that the holidays are over and my son is back to school, it's almost normal. I have two sons, one in college and one in high school. I work in music which is interesting, stressful, fun, and drives me crazy as well. :) What about you? How's this slushy Tuesday going?

New Year...means more dates!

I took some time off for the holidays and I was completely out of the loop as the expert here.   However, I logged in for Mr and Miss this week and feeling confident that we will have some exciting dates ahead.   I thought it was going to be completely overwhelming with my work schedule, life, and such.  But, I am feeling good, cleaned out some of the dust in their inboxes and chatted with what seems to be normal dating folks.   I know, I say normal a lot!  We also need a little hotness in the new year.  We want sparks people!  We want some making out!  And, if we are lucky, maybe some love!
